I am exciting and enthusiastic to begin my fifth year at St. Matthew. On my journey at St. Matthew, I began teaching 5th and 6th grade English for two years (2012-2014), then took a year off in Wisconsin with my family (2014-2015), and returned as an administrative assistant for Mrs. Klein in 2015-2016. Last year was my first as 5th and 6th grade Social Studies teacher. I LOVE it, and I love the 5th and 6th grade teaching team! I have also helped coach a couple girls’ basketball teams, and I currently coach our 7th grade boys’ team. I coached many of your children at our Raiders Basketball Camp this summer as well! I feel that the staff and families of St. Matthew are my family in every way, and I love that I get to work with my husband, Mr. Jake Richards!
Mr. Richards and I have an almost 3-year-old son named Donald and a 3-month old named Edith. When we aren’t at St. Matt’s for school or church, we are spending time with them. They grow and change faster than we can keep track of, and before we know it, they are going to be St. Matthew Raiders too! They is our world, and we thank God every day for such a blessing. We also have a yorkie named Cricket, and she is sweet, loves to play, and loves to bark. I love to golf, play basketball and softball, participate in water sports, read, write, and spend any and all time possible with my family. Lastly, I love the Packers!
I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2012 in Elementary Education. I am also certified to teach English and Social Studies at the middle school level, so I am thrilled to be taking on one of my favorite subjects this year! Mr. Richards and I met at the U of I, never guessing that we would stay, but we are so happy with the life we’ve made here. I am also finishing my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Illinois, so this year will be a busy but rewarding one.
Please always feel free to contact me via email at [email protected] or school phone at any time.
